Abandonment turned into opportunity

Il recupero sulla spiaggia dei reperti di rifiuti gettati in mare dall’uomo diventa l’occasione per un viaggio. Amplificano il valore della materia utilizzata: sono residui di una vita passata, raccolti, catalogati e usati così come sono stati trovati. La loro composizione attorno alle due opere presentate diventa un’installazione. Metafora di un mondo come un giardino aperto,
luogo d’incontro vitale, in continuo movimento.

Recovering on the seashore the waste that people threw in the sea turns into a journey opportunity. They increase the value of the used material: they are the remains of a past life, gathered, catalogued and used as they were found. Within the whole work, their composition becomes a metaphor for an ever-changing world which is conceived as an open garden, a vital meeting point.

Milano, vicina all’Europa, 2010
La pianta di Milano è intesa sia come rappresentazione topografica sia come elemento biologico, e, in tal senso, appare proiettata verso le tematiche dell’Expo 2015: con l’acqua (riemersa) dei suoi navigli, gli alberi, i prati, i terreni…

The plan of Milan is meant both as a topographic representation and as a biological element. In the latter sense, it seems projected towards the topics characterizing Expo 2015: the water of its Navigli, its trees, lawns, lands.

Il terzo paesaggio, 2010
Giardino simbolico, che nasce dai resti di una città oppure spazio onirico in cui la natura si mostra, mentre si riappropria del suo spazio con vigore. È una citazione, ma anche un omaggio, all’opera del paesaggista francese Gilles Clément, che definisce il Terzo paesaggio come rovescio del mondo organizzato e rifugio delle diversità.

A symbolic garden which rises from the ruins of a town, or a dream space where nature unveils, while it vigorously takes possession of its space. It is a quotation as well as a tribute to the work by the French landscapist Gilles Clément, who defines the Third landscape as the reverse side of the organized world and the shelter of diversities.
